Bellow Sealed Valve
Published on : Tuesday 30-11--0001
Bellow Sealed Valves are the latest, in-demand industrial process valves designed to solve the problem.
Why use Bellow Sealed Valves?
- Precision finish seat & surface
- Zero emission (Class “A”)
- Fire safe design
- Suitable for vacuum service
- Easy replacement
- Additional odour and safety measure
How does it work?
A bellow is a long accordion-like tube. In these valves, conventional gland packing is supplemented by a metallic bellow cartridge. This is joined to the valve bonnet at one end, and the stem at the other. The bellow expands or compresses with the movement of the valve stroke.
The stem is fully covered with metallic bellow in wet zone. Due to this, the process fluid never reaches the gland area. Thus the fluid enters the valve from the seat of the valve & comes in contact with the bellow. But it will never come in contact with the stem.
Stem, being the only moving part in the valve, is a source of potential leakage through the gland. This is due to the constant friction caused by the axial movement.
In a bellow sealed valve this is totally avoided due to the metallic bellow. It blocks the leak path effectively by not allowing the media to come in contact with the stem.
Where is it used?
Bellow Sealed Valves are specifically used in industries such as Refineries, Natural Gas, LPG & LNG, Synthetic, Paper & Pulp.
It is also used in Industrial plants such as fertilizers, plastics, paints, shipping, rubber, cement.
These industries typically includes all kind Hazardous & Corrosive Chemicals & Heat Transfer Media like high & medium pressure steam, hot oils like Dowtherm, Therminol, Santotherm etc. It is also used in Hot Water / Condensate etc.
