Innovative cooling of EC motors in extractor systems used in catering and industry
Simplified installation, no edges acting as dirt traps and a range of applications up to 80 degrees are the three main advantages of the new ZAventero Centrifugal Fan from Ziehl-Abegg for the catering sector and industry. The reason: using the innovative ZAventero means only one pipe connection is needed between the motor enclosure and wall of the unit because air is conducted through the struts to the suction side.
In kitchens, cleanliness is the number one priority. When it comes to hygiene, fans in extractor systems in particular come under close scrutiny by inspectors. “Every additional edge, every recess which is difficult to reach, increases the risk of dirt accumulating there” explains Mario Knecht, Product Manager at Ziehl-Abegg. Consequently, reductions in the amount of time required for cleaning save money on personnel expenses and also increase the length of time the fans are in operation.
That’s why the previous centrifugal fan has been fully encased and the air flow from the motor cooling dissipated within the struts. “This completely eliminates the need for the pipe from the EC motor on the inlet side to the suction side emphasizes the fan expert. This enables the innovative ZAventero to be easily installed on a “Plug and Play“ basis, i.e. without any additional piping (all that’s needed is the pipe to the external wall of the unit). Since these pipes also impaired the airflow efficiency of the unit, the new ZAventero is also more economical in terms of energy consumption than comparable products.
The direct dissipation of the warm air from the EC motor increases the temperature resistance of the fan cube. "We can circulate air up to a temperature of 80 degrees without any problems” explains Knecht. This makes the ZAventero the perfect answer not only for kitchens but also for industrial applications that generate higher temperatures. For example oil separators because of the extensive dirt and contamination they usually create, or drying plants in which equipment is normally operated at high temperatures.
