However, all versions combine robust, maintenance-free design with reliable and open software and application. The MIIPS C Unit can communicate via fixed line and most known mobile network standards. But it is also reliable in other ways: dual processors monitor each other and redundant communication makes a backup plan for connection available as needed – with strong encryption.

Built on open standards

The software runs on Linux, which means anyone can develop apps for the platform. In terms of hardware, all connections are also standard: Ethernet, USB, serial ports, I/O, CANbus and six analog inputs are just a few examples. MIIPS C Unit is also operator-independent and can communicate in most common mobile network standards.

Backward compatible – future-proof

MIIPS C Unit is now on its third generation, but we are always careful to maintain backward compatibility. Thanks to the open connections and standards on which we build both hardware and software, the entire platform is also future-proof. Three generations will become many more – and functionality improves with each generation.
