Kaman’s KD-2306, a non-contact Linear Displacement Measuring Instrument based on proven balanced bridge eddy current technology, is simple to use, makes high precision static and dynamic measurements, and supports ambient, moderate temperature, and cryogenic-rated sensors. Applications range from lab work to production and process automation. The RoHS-compliant, CE-marked system with DIN rail mount is ideal for integration into OEM equipment and industrial control applications.
Able to sense both ferrous and non-ferrous metal targets, the KD-2306 includes electronics, sensor, and interconnecting cable. Standard sensing ranges are from 0.02” to 2.4”, with 0.01%FS resolution or better, with non-linearity as little as 0.25%FS. Kaman offers over 30 sensors models including single and dual coil, shielded and unshielded designs. Terminal I/O connections connect 15-30VDC input power, optional 0-5VDC, 0-10VDC, +/-5VDC, 4-20 mA output, and synchronisation cables for multiple channel operation. The system offers both coarse and fine calibration potentiometers, and external user synchronisation.
Features:
• Single-channel multi-purpose non-contact displacement sensing system
• Supports both dual and single coil sensors
• Terminal I/O connections
• Auto-synchronisation of multiple channels
• Analog DC and 4-20mA outputs
• Single ended, bipolar, and differential voltage outputs
• Front face coarse and fine calibration controls, and
• RoHS compliant and CE marked.
Kaman specialises in inductive, eddy current technology. The sensors provide non-contact indication of linear position/displacement by outputting an analog voltage, or, in some cases, a current that is proportional to the distance between the sensor face and the target being sensed.
Eddy current technology requires an electrically conductive target. It does not need to be a grounded target, and performance is typically the same whether the target is ferrous or non-ferrous.
Kaman Precision Products – Measuring is part of the parent Kaman Corporation of Bloomfield, Connecticut.
