iiM AG has extended his well proven product family VisioCablePro^® by a new measuring device, marketed under the name VCPEx+, which was specifically developed for the measurement of dies, nozzles and counterpieces. Extrusion tools can be inspected for wear with high precision. The measurement results can either directly be printed out as report or exported for archiving and further processing.

 

By combining a tactile scan of the outer contour with a camera-based circular measurement of the inner contour, the development team succeeded to extend the range of results in comparison to the previous generation.

 

The new technology includes additional roundness and concentricity measurements to the maximum, minimum and average inner diameter of the tool. These are important and necessary properties to make an adequate statement on the extrusion tools wear and tear condition.

 

The main advantage of these combined features is that before the extrusion process begins, the quality is checked and a lower deviation of the wall thickness can be prevented. The compact All-In-One device not only impresses with its modern design, but also with ingenious technique and high-level usability. The test specimen clamps centrally in a quick-clamping chuck and the outer contour is touched with a tactile probe. The measurement starts directly from the software by pressing one button. Especially in the field of tool storing and providing, the VCPEx+ shows its strength. This guarantees that only independently tested and approved tools are used in production. The archiving and traceability of results enables a convenient life cycle presentation of your tools.

It is used in cable, wire and solar industry and also for the automotive industry.
