Infrared Temperature Sensor with IO-Link

Essen, November 2017 – Both the analogue output with 4...20 mA and the switching output are freely programmable via IO-Link or directly on the new infrared temperature sensor. The emissivity can also be conveniently set via IO-Link or on the sensor. In addition ifm electronic has equipped the devices from the TW21 series with a pilot light that is used for exact orientation and verification of the measuring segment.
Non-contact temperature measurement
The new device shows its strength above all with exact temperature measurement of particularly hot objects or objects that are difficult to access such as in the steel, plastics or glass industries. The green pilot light is easily visible even on red-hot surfaces. Besides low current consumption, the LED is distinguished by its virtually unlimited lifetime. Moreover the sensor features a simulation function that can be directly triggered on the sensor or via an external control signal.
Batch-related programming
Thanks to the integrated IO-Link communication interface, the parameters can be dynamically adjusted to the application from the control room. Local parameter setting on the unit is not necessary, but can optionally be done via the display and the buttons. The new infrared temperature sensor from ifm is offered in different versions.
