Cimsource has further developed its Sales Support Server for creating machine-readable information from tool data. In the new release, the 3S system is conceived as a switching center for the information logistics of machine manufacturers. Tool-readable information is created from tool data and transferred to the customer. As the company explains, the 3S server collects the tool data at the sources, compiles them into a harmonized data model and generates the customized information. As the German company explains, such customized information may include catalog data for e-procurement or distribution, 3D graphics for NC verification or complete tool libraries for tool management. The data model reportedly facilitates the switching between different standards such as ISO 13399, GTC, DIN 4000/4003 or BME Cat. To feed CAM systems, the system uses the export filters of Tools United. As a result, each tool supplier can satisfy requests for data directly. According to the exhibitors, this is an important building block for the digitization of the supply side and the software technology strengthens the customer relationship.
