Play it safe with piSAFE

The piSAFE® program consisting of decentralised vacuum pumps with integrated check valves and separate check valves for centralised vacuum systems was developed considering the safety requirements of the automotive industry.

When trouble-shooting, performing maintenance or if compressed air is shut off, the operator needs to be able to enter the robot cell without the risk of being endangered by falling parts.

The piSAFE® vacuum pump unit can be integrated into the EOAT as a decentralised vacuum generator. With its integrated vacuum safety non-return valve, it provides more control in case of a leakage in one of the suction cups of the EOAT. In this case the material to be handled is still held by all other suction cups, while in case of a power failure the vacuum stays allowing the EOAT to hold the part despite the drop in compressed air.

A large variety of mounting options including standard interfaces for EOAT helps to ensure that piSAFE® can easily fit your systems. The modular design with quick connect function enables fast maintenance.

The modular design facilitates opportunities for multiple mounting options and ensuring easy maintenance through Piab’s unique Quick Connect interface as well as decreased downtime during maintenance. The system is configurable with different types of release functions supporting maximum release speed providing you with a full control in your application.
