Film Guide Roller

They divert films or labels: guide rollers with ball bearings. Mainly used, so far, in clear anodised aluminium, the new black guide roller from igus now provides a real sensation in packaging and labelling technology. The ready-to-install system is convincing not only visually, but also technically. It consists of black anodised aluminium tubes and maintenance- free, smooth-running xiros polymer ball bearings. xiros polymer ball bearings are lubrication-free, maintenance-free, hygienic and have a very low breakaway torque. Due to these specifications, they are mainly used in the field of packaging and food technology. As fully assembled systems with a tube made of aluminium, carbon or PVC, the ball bearings prove their worth as guide rollers for deflecting films and labels or for conveying goods. Ultrasonic Level Transmitter, LST200

ABB has just launched a new feature-rich ultrasonic level transmitter designed specifically for industries with large installed bases of level measurement devices, particularly water and wastewater treatment. With its modular design and intelligent algorithms, the LST200 is easy to install, commission and maintain and stable in use, decreasing total expenditure over the product's lifetime. Commissioning the LST200 is easy thanks to a set-up menu that guides customers through configuration within one minute. Maintaining the device is easy because it offers real-time echo waveform and diagnostic messaging for efficient troubleshooting. High stability is achieved by a sophisticated algorithm that enables the LST200 to detect and automatically compensate for any instability in the strength of the ultrasonic signal. Frequency Inverters, ACOPOSinverter Series

The ACOPOSinverter P86 is a series of frequency inverters for three-phase synchronous and induction motors, with or without encoders. It covers a wide power spectrum from 0.75 to 75 kW and is particularly well-suited for packaging, conveyor system, material processing and hoisting gear applications. B&R&'s P86-series inverters already comply with the IE efficiency factors standardised in EN 61800-9-2. The future-proof inverters are easy to configure and exceptionally flexible. The new ACOPOSinverter series is also equipped with the dual-channel safety function Safe Torque Off (STO) in accordance with SIL3/PLe. The frequency inverters are particularly well suited for dynamic applications. They can deliver up to 220% of the nominal output torque for two seconds. FSW Signal and Spectrum Analyser

Rohde & Schwarz has announced the launch of the new R&S FSW-B8001 option. It extends the internal analysis bandwidth of the R&S FSW high-end signal and spectrum analyser to 8.3 GHz. Covering an input frequency range of up to 90 GHz, the instrument provides an unmatched dynamic range and sensitivity, precision and EVM performance. Equipped with the extended analysis bandwidth option and dedicated measurement applications, the signal and spectrum analyser meets current and future test and measurement requirements for ultra wideband signal analysis across different industries. Applications for the R&S FSW include pulse measurements of A&D radar systems, satellite payload testing and amplifier pre- distortion tests. The instrument also covers chirp analysis for automotive radar and research on the next generation of wireless communication. Cables for Single Pair Ethernet

Leoni, global solution provider for power and data management in the automotive and other industries, has developed two new cables for the industrial data transmission standard Single Pair Ethernet (SPE), which can be used in drag chain and torsion applications. This makes Leoni the first cable manufacturer in the world to bring these cables to market. Together with six other well-known technology companies, Leoni is a founding member of the SPE Industrial Partner Network e.V. (https://www.single-pair-ethernet.com). SPE is the infrastructure basis that makes the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) or Industry 4.0 possible. SPE solutions are used in a space and cost-saving manner and enable direct communication from the cloud to the field level. RGB-LED Ring Lights

The new RGB-LED Ring Lights from Signal-Construct are based on the super-flat signal light series for 22 and 30 mm installation diameters. They are suitable for the full RGB spectrum including white, and in the installation position they are protected according to IP67. They are currently available with either a common anode or a common cathode for 12 or 24 V DC. Tab terminals, integrated 4-pin JST plugs, stranded wires or sheathed cables are possible as connection configurations. Sealing washers are supplied to seal against the front panel, a hexagon nut made of plastic for fastening the 30 mm lamp, and optionally a knurled nut made of aluminium or a hexagon nut made of nickel-plated brass for the 22 mm version. Sputter System for Optical Filters

With the OPTA X, VON ARDENNE launches a newly developed rotary disk sputtering system for the deposition of interference-optical filter layers of highest precision. Thus, the Dresden-based company complements the existing technology and equipment portfolio for optical precision coatings. VON ARDENNE had already decided to enter the precision optics market in 2018 building on a long tradition of providing coating solutions for optical applications. The development of the OPTA X was derived from this tradition. It was presented for the first time at the Laser World of Photonics 2019 and aroused a strong interest in the industry. This opportunity of a direct exchange with the customers was used to discuss and optimise the technological concept. Area Gripper for Vacuum Tube Lifter

Schmalz is introducing a new generation of area grippers for its vacuum tube lifters in the JumboErgo series. The FMP is hugely versatile and reliably grips heavy workpieces weighing up to 140 kilograms even when only part of the suction area is covered. It replaces the FM gripper. Thanks to its modular design, the FMP also provides a basis for extending the area gripper portfolio for the vacuum tube lifter Jumbo in the future. The area gripper FM has been available for the JumboErgo for some time. It has now been fully replaced by the FMP generation. This area gripper may already be familiar to some: It has long since proven itself as an end-of-arm tool in vacuum automation. Machine Vision USB3 Camera

FLIR Systems recently announced the availability of the new FLIR Blackfly S visible spectrum camera module, the first to integrate the Sony Pregius S IMX540 sensor with 24.5 MP at 12 FPS in a USB3 camera. The combination of the Blackfly S feature set with IMX540’s high megapixel (MP) count and fast imaging enables engineers and researchers from biomedical to semiconductor industries to inspect more in less time and with fewer cameras required. With a new backside illuminated (BSI) 2.74 µm pixel, the Pregius S sensors nearly doubles the pixel density of earlier Pregius sensors while taking advantage of lower cost and more compact lenses. Delivering 24 MP, 12 FPS Sony Pregius distortion-free imaging of fast-moving targets, the Blackfly S enables faster production lines even for very detailed inspection. Time-of-Flight Laser Sensor

Field Bus Interface, Safety Fieldbox

The Schmersal Group has recently introduced its Safety Fieldbox with PROFINET/PROFIsafe field bus interface, a safety solution designed specifically for the packaging industry. Software Packages for Camera Integration

Baumer is offering neoAPI and the Camera Explorer – two new free-of-charge software packages for fast, easy, and efficient camera integration. The software is available for PC- and ARM-based systems under Windows 7, Windows 10, and Linux. Baumer neoAPI offers efficient camera integration in Python, C++, and C#. The new powerful and user-friendly GenICam camera application programming interface (API) allows quick familiarisation thanks to its modern design. This allows Baumer cameras to be integrated into various applications with just a few lines of code – even by software developers with limited experience in the area of image processing. Integrated automatisms reduce the necessary code lines to a minimum, e.g., to six lines for image acquisition and storage. Thanks to auto-complete support, not only code segments but also GenICam features of the camera are prompted and completed, while help options are also displayed. DT and Superseal Valve Connectors

CONEC has extended their range of DT and Superseal valve connectors by versions with double cable outlet. Versions with double outlet are mostly used as Y-distributors for the distribution of signals and power, with variable cable lengths and the possibility to assemble different connectors at the cable ends according to customer requirements. Versions with double outlet are also often used in DaisyChain applications with multiple cascaded connectors, e.g., to control valves via a CAN-Bus. The option of distributing the signals and power in the connector to two additional ones, offers possibilities for making systems more compact and thus for saving installation space. The version with double outlet is offered with a PUR cable and a strand cross-section of 0.75 mm² in 1 m length. Thermal Imaging Camera

The new Micro-Epsilon thermoIMAGER TIM QVGA thermal imaging camera combines a compact size and high resolution with high speed. The camera is ideally suited to monitoring tasks in industrial processes. With a frame rate up to 80 Hz and a resolution of 382 x 288 pixels, the thermoIMAGER TIM QVGA operates quickly and reliably in a temperature range from -20°C to 900°C. In addition, for temperatures up to 1500°C a special model is available. The camera is 40% smaller than its predecessor which enables even easier integration in industrial processes such as monitoring tasks in 3D printing or 100% inspection in injection moulding processes. Incremental and Absolute Encoders

Wachendorff, the German measurement systems manufacturer, has recently launched redundant versions of its well proven WDGR and WDGE series incremental and absolute encoders. Available from Variohm EuroSensor, Wachendorff´s exclusive UK distributor, the new series combine disparate optical and magnetic measurement principles that are independently correlated yet fully synchronised through separate processing electronics. Providing true redundancy and utilising as few similar components as possible, Wachendorff see the new products as a compelling and cost effective alternative to expensive Performance Level d or SIL 3 based safety systems – with the two tried and tested measurement principles extensively used across thousands of industrial speed and position feedback tasks over many years.
