Fine Boring System

Kennametal has introduced a new line of digital-ready fine boring tools that make precision adjustment easy, enabling more productive, predictable, and accurate boring. The eBore Fine Boring System consists of cutting units to cover a diameter range from 6 to 1020mm (0.236” to 40.157”) and an optional digital display that makes precision adjustments as simple as turning a screw – and costly mistakes a thing of the past. With Kennametal’s digital eBore digital device, dialing in a tight bore and losing count of how far the adjustment screw was turned is a thing of the past. With an adjustment accuracy of 0.002 mm (0.00008”), the chip and coolant-resistant device contains a glass-scale that keeps track of boring bar movement. FixtureBuilder 3D-Modelling Software

FixtureBuilder allows users to design metrology fixturing set-ups without having to go near their co-ordinate measuring machines (CMM) and other inspection devices. This reduces the amount of unproductive set-up time and increases the productivity of inspection machines. The software can be used with a CAD model of the part to be inspected, which is imported into FixtureBuilder, so that the fixture can be built around it. The entire fixturing set-up, along with the part, can then be exported into inspection programming software. Extended Calculation of Planetary Gear Stages

The calculation of load spectra is also supported. Now there are several new options for the profile shift sum as well as for the distribution of the profile shift coefficients. Polyamide Handwheels

Ideal for machine builders amongst a variety of application possibilities, polyamide construction offers an alternative to steel and aluminium finishes. The three-spoke polyamide handwheels are available both with and without a folding handle, used to increase grip and precision of use. Indoor Navigation solution

In assembly units, warehouses, bespoke production plants and distribution centres, the traditional material picking process is highly manual and reliant on picking personnel’s familiarity with warehouse layout. Gas Chromatograph, Rosemount 700XA

Emerson has recently introduced the Rosemount™ 700XA gas chromatograph (GC), the industry’s first single-analyser solution to provide measurement of sulfur compounds as well as energy content of natural gas, delivering a cost-effective approach to meet gas quality and heating value requirements for pipeline distribution, processing of liquefied natural gas (LNG), mixed and high-purity natural gas liquids (NGLs), as well as international LNG commerce. Compressive Force Transducer

With its C11, HBM introduces a new series of Compressive Force Transducers that open up new areas of application due to their ultra-miniature design. The new compression load button load cells are based on strain gauges and are thus drift-free. The sensor is available in two sizes: The variants with nominal forces of 50 N, 100 N and 200 N are just 4 mm high with a diameter of only 10 mm. Sensitive Toolholder

VOC Sensor, SGP40

Sensirion, the expert in environmental sensing, presents the new SGP40 VOC (volatile organic compound) sensor for indoor air quality applications such as automated air quality control systems (air purifiers, kitchen hoods, demand-controlled ventilation systems, etc.) and air quality monitoring. Exposure to high and/or hazardous levels of VOCs can be avoided by appropriate ventilation or by identifying and eliminating the pollution source. Sensirion’s SGP40 is a broad-band VOC sensor which reliably detects high-VOC events. When built into an air quality monitor, it allows users to identify the sources of such events and take appropriate action. Multi-Axis Servo System, AX8000

The high-performance AX8000 multi-axis servo system from Beckhoff is characterised by extremely high dynamics and very short cycle times. The motor current is scanned in μs cycles and the minimum adjustable EtherCAT cycle time is 62.5 μs. Through the support of oversampling technology, process data can now even be scanned several times within a communication cycle if required and transferred to the controller via EtherCAT. With the highly dynamic EtherCAT-based AX8000 servo system, new setpoint values can be transferred every 62.5 μs from the motion controller in the Industrial PC to the servo drive. Comparable control systems usually operate with a cycle time of only 1 ms. Now the AX8000 firmware additionally supports oversampling technology familiar from Beckhoff EtherCAT I/Os.
