Weiss Automation Solutions inaugurates New Campus in Pune

Weiss Automation Solutions India Pvt Ltd is the Indian subsidiary of the Weiss GmbH of Germany.
Pune, March 2020 – Weiss Automation Solutions India Pvt Ltd recently inaugurated New Campus at Chakan, near Pune. The facility will bring together Weiss APAC regional headquarter, India Sales Office, Engineering Knowledge Centre, Weiss Solution Factory and the group’s Global Sourcing & Global Technical Development Centre.
Weiss Automation Solutions India Pvt Ltd is the Indian subsidiary of the Weiss GmbH of Germany, the world’s leading manufacturer of modern and efficient industrial rotary and linear movements in automation. Weiss Group is spread across 17 countries and has sales worth about 125 million euros worldwide.
The New Campus was inaugurated by Dr Juergen Morhard, Consul General of the Federal Republic of Germany, Mumbai and Mr Rajesh Nath, Managing Director – VDMA India in the presence of industry leaders, key customers and business partners.
“As a part of the growth plan and strategy for Asia Pacific & India Market, Weiss Group has been beefing up its operations and resources in the region. The first step in that direction, we are adding customer-facing and technical resources, competence and infrastructure. The New Campus in Chakan Industrial Area in Pune is a big step in this direction,” said Uwe Weiss, Group CEO, Weiss GmbH, who was not present due to travel restrictions and was available for interaction through video conferencing.
In addition to this, the newly started solution factory will house, India Logistic Centre and Warehouse, Service Centre, Customised and Value-added Product assembly. Apart from Pune, the company has recently added regional sales offices in Delhi NCR, Ahmedabad, Chennai, and Bengaluru to be close to and serve the customers in the region better.
Weiss has invested over Rs 30 million in infrastructure for setting up this new campus in Chakan, Pune and additionally another Rs 50 million in putting up the Engineering Knowledge Centre equipped with the latest state-of-the-art live demo units for customer training and engineering consultancy services.

According to VDMA – the association of German engineering industry – Germany is India’s largest trading partner in Europe. There are more than 1700 German companies active in India and over 600 Indo-German JV in operations. As per 2018 data, India ranks 15th in the list of Germany’s global trade partners.
