Mumbai, August 19, 2024: IED Communications, the promoter of Automation Expo – Asia’s second largest and India’s biggest international exhibition of automation technologies – is hosting the 17th edition of the event from August 21st to 24th, 2024, at the regular venue at NSE Complex, Goregaon (E) in Mumbai. The event that was launched in 2002 has witnessed tremendous changes in the past 22 years, and like the Indian industry, has scaled many peaks of success.
The focus of Automation Expo 2024 is on the impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Robotics. While robots have become more widely accepted in the industry thanks to their becoming cost competitive and easy to programme, the arrival of cobots on the scene over the last decade have dramatically altered the manufacturing landscape. Unlike robots that are caged and more suitable for handling applications that are often arduous and beyond human endurance, cobots are working in tandem with human workers being inherently safe in such collaborative operations. AI, on the other hand, when applied to production data helps improve failure prediction and maintenance planning and other tasks like curtailing material waste to more accurate demand forecasts. With more startups joining the traditional heavyweights, it is time the visitors, especially from the MSME segment, get a complete picture of the options available to them.
“The industry is on the threshold of the Fifth Industrial Revolution, where digital technology, artificial intelligence, and physical machinery intertwine, and therein lies the future of manufacturing and production processes. Automation Expo 2024 stands at the forefront of this transformative era, showcasing the pivotal role of AI and Robotics in reshaping the landscape of Process Automation and Factory Automation or discrete manufacturing segments. AI has revolutionised not just the industrial automation sector, but also the commercial and domestic sectors with the use in appliances and services, with robotic process automation leading the way. Robotics and the way robots have evolved and metamorphosed into the safer and more user-friendly cobots, is another facet of the current phase of digital transformation in industry. In combination, AI and robotics present a formidable tool for the next stage of automation for both process and discrete manufacturing industries, further raising the bar for productivity,” says Dr M Arokiaswamy, Founder & Chairman, IED Communications, and the man behind the iconic show Automation Expo has become today.
Automation Expo 2024 will continue the tradition of regular features like an inaugural ceremony with a keynote by a leading figure of the industry setting the tone for the four-day event. There will be a carefully curated conference programme with domain experts conducting the proceedings; the CEO Networking Nite, Conferences on Process Automation, Robotics and Factory Automation; an Awards Ceremony, and a series of Workshops – engaging panel discussions with industry experts. The India Automation Challenge launched during the 2023 edition proved to be a hit and is back with renewed vigour and wider participation.
“The Final Budget 2024, presented by Union Finance Minister Ms Nirmala Sitharaman has been widely welcomed by industry leaders as one that is going to play a vital role in shaping the future of India, a significant milestone in the country’s journey towards becoming a truly Viksit Bharat. The manufacturing industry in particular is highly enthused by the massive layout for infrastructure and renewable energy segments and the rationalisation of customs duties, aimed at transforming India into a global manufacturing hub. Automation Expo 2024 will provide the necessary technology inputs and innovative products and ideas from global leaders on a single platform to help enterprises fully exploit the favourable tailwinds to surge forward, finding the right place in the global hierarchy,” says Jyothi Joseph, Director, IED Communications, who has been aggressively promoting this show globally.
With 50,000 attendees comprising experts in automation, this event serves as the prime platform to showcase cutting-edge technologies and to build valuable connections within the Instrumentation and Automation Industry.
