CII and Danfoss India launch report on Food Processing Sector in India at FoodPro 2024

Chennai, August 2024: The 15th edition of CII FoodPro 2024 was held at Chennai Trade Centre from 9th to 11th Aug'24, a premier event covering F&B, Agriculture, Agri-tech, Cold Chain, and Refrigeration. The inaugural event witnessed the launch of a report by CII, CII FACE (The Confederation of Indian Industry – Food and Agriculture Centre of Excellence) supported by Danfoss India, titled, "Food Processing Sector in India – Potential for Southern States".
The report was launched by Ms Apoorva IAS, Principal Secretary & Agricultural Production Commissioner, Government of Tamil Nadu, Thiru P Rajeev, Hon'ble Minister for Law, Industries and Coir, Govt of Kerala, Mr Sreedhar Cherukuri IAS, Commissioner of Industries, Commerce & Exports, and CEO, AP Food Processing Society, Govt of Andhra Pradesh, and Mr APM Mohammed Hanish IAS, Principal Secretary (Industries & Commerce), Govt of Kerala, in the presence of Mr Ravichandran Purushothaman, President, Danfoss India, CII members, and other dignitaries.
The report carries insights on emerging trends, technologies, and export opportunities, enabling businesses to make informed decisions and tap into the sector's potential. Additionally, it highlights the strengths and challenges of each southern state, allowing them to tailor their strategies and leverage their unique advantages. It helps stakeholders, including policymakers, investors, and industry players, to understand the sector's growth potential, investment opportunities, and regulatory framework.

This event also witnessed the unveiling of the new Danfoss Optyma™ Pack Condensing Unit, a reliable and energy-efficient solution for Bulk Milk Cooling and Cold Room applications. This innovative technology ensures optimal milk temperatures with minimised energy consumption, which brings down the carbon footprint, addressing critical dairy processing challenges and supporting India's sustainable food production goals.
