Ukraine Steps Into The Future With Victoria Shi, Worlds 1st AI Diplomat

Ukraine has deployed an AI-powered avatar, Victoria Shi, for the foreign ministry.
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is not the thing of the future, it is already happening now. From transforming every aspect of business to making human lives easier, AI is taking over everything. Now step ahead, it is making its footprint in the government with the introduction of an AI-generated avatar, named Victoria Shi, by Ukraine’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The ministry has deployed Shi as its digital spokesperson, making this a first in the world of diplomacy. While the visual aspect of Victoria Shi is generated by AI, the statements are prepared and verified by human personnel, according to Ukraine's ministry.
Know All About “Victoria Shi”
Victoria Shi is an AI spokeswoman designed to deliver pre-pared official statements on behalf of the Ministry. As per Ukraine's ministry, the AI spokeswoman was developed and undertaken by a team known as The Game Changers, which has previously created virtual reality content related to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
The purpose of the development of Victoria Shi is to provide timely updates on consular affairs. The AI spokeswoman will also enhance efficiency by saving time and resources for human diplomats. The name of Victoria Shi amalgamates the Ukrainian word for artificial intelligence, "shtuchniy intelekt," and "victory," symbolising the nation's aspirations.
According to reports, the tone and voice of Victoria Shi, an AI diplomat, are modelled on Rosalie Nombre, a Ukrainian singer and TV celebrity. In her introductory video, Shi reportedly introduces herself as a digital person and says with her appointment, “We are taking a step into the future.”
With the development of the world’s first AI diplomat, there might be a risk of security breach in its technology and software; deepfake is one of those risks. To combat this, the Ministry has taken adequate measures. Each of Shi’s statements will contain a unique QR code linking to the official text version on the Ministry’s website.
The deployment of Victoria Shi is showing a significant step towards the future and will inspire more countries to adopt next-gen technologies.
