Padmashree Prof G D Yadav was speaking as the Chief Guest at the IEC Automation Week, held on October 27th and 28th, 2023 at Thane, Mumbai.

November 03, 2023 – “With the advancement of Technology in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Robotics, Machine Language (ML), etc., the present-day engineers have wide option to select a suitable branch for their progress, as well as that of the nation,” said Padmashree Prof G D Yadav, one of the top engineering scientists and academicians in India. He has been an active consultant to industry with more than 70 assignments and over 70 sponsored research projects for the past 30 years. Prof G D Yadav has been involved in many policy making prestigious committees of central and state governments, UGC, AICTE, NBA, CSIR, DBT, MHRD, NAAC, CII, FICCI, etc., and provided inspiring leadership to the Institute of Chemical Technology (ICT), the Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers (IIChE), Catalysis Society of India, and Maharashtra Academy of Sciences.
Prof G D Yadav was speaking as the Chief Guest at the IEC Automation Week, held on October 27th and 28th, 2023 at Thane, Mumbai. Organised by the Instrumentation Experts Club, the IEC Automation Week is an Exposition comprising Technical Seminars and Exhibition held biennially.
Prof G D Yadav was vocal on many fronts like how green Hydrogen could save the planet from carbon emission and was categorical in stating that the maximum temperature rise, which our planet could sustain was around 1.5 degC and anything above this, would result in catastrophe. Similarly, the maximum population our planet could take was around 9 billion and not more and nature would ensure this balance. He elaborated on the role of Robotics in many sectors like Health, Environment, etc., and stated that robotics would play a major role in future, but cannot replace human resources. AI computers mimic cognitive processes such as learning and problem-solving, while human intelligence is a collection of common mental traits such as creativity, perception, memory, thought processes, and the ability to adapt and learn.
Though Green Hydrogen is the future, it is easier said than done, due to its hazardous characteristics. Apart from manufacturing, storage and consumer consumption would be a challenge as well. Most important aspect of this was to ensure the economics and balance. He highlighted how much carbon is emitted during the process of manufacturing semiconductor chips. According to Prof G D Yadav, the potential of automation must be fully utilised to increase efficiency and productivity.
Instrumentation Experts Club (IEC) is a leading non-profit organisation founded in the year 2002, by a group of like-minded instrumentation professionals, that is setting the standard for automation, by helping the members and other professionals to remain at forefront of knowledge in this highly competitive society, while enhancing their leadership and personal career capabilities.
Under the able leadership of Dr B R Mehta – the founder of IEC – this Event encompassing Exhibition cum Conference generated tremendous positive response from the industry in India and beyond.
