Automation Expo continues to maintain its numero uno position in the digital era.
Mumbai, August 1, 2023 – Bigger, Better and Stronger – Automation Expo – Asias second largest and Indias biggest international exhibition of automation technologies – is all set to return for its 16th edition at the regular venue in Mumbai during August 23-26, 2023. The event this year returns to its full pre-Covid glory and will be hosted in Halls 1 and 2 of the Bombay Exhibition Centre at NEC Complex, Goregaon at Mumbai.
Post Covid, the industry has emerged much stronger and wiser. Automation with a strong emphasis on digitalisation is now the priority of every enterprise, after having suffered a severe disruption in business due to the Covid induced lockdown, says Dr M Arokiaswamy, Chairman & Managing Director, IED Communications, and the founder of this mega event. Businesses that were high on the digitalisation curve were in a position to limit the damage thanks to their ability to manage remote operations. The lesson was not lost on the laggards. Today, digital transformation is on the agenda of every CEO and owner/entrepreneur, even in the SME segment, he added.
Since inception in the year 2002, Automation Expo has always focused on the core business of Process Automation and Discrete Manufacturing, on topics like Instrumentation & Control, Field Instrumentation, Control Rooms, Hydraulics & Pneumatics, etc. With the onset of the Industry 4.0, the focus has expanded to include Smart Factory, Robotics, IIoT, Cybersecurity and other emerging technologies. With growing concerns about climate change, topics like Building Automation and Environment Protection are also receiving due attention. These are the segments that are increasingly under the focus of policy makers and regulatory authorities in pursuing the larger goals of sustainability as envisaged by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. The automation industry has many solutions to offer in these areas, which would be on display at Automation Expo 2023.
Another highlight of the Automation Expo series of annual exhibitions is the conference program. These conferences would be addressed by eminent persons with years of experience in the respective domain, addressing the contemporary developments on the subject, and elaborating upon various policy measures. Automation Expo was launched in the year 2002. It was a period when the Indian industry was experiencing record growth surge post liberalisation of the 1990s. Since then, the event has grown phenomenally just as the industry, and has become the venue of choice for global automation vendors to launch their products. The recent years have witnessed a fresh slew of incentives starting with the Make in India initiative, and supported by the more recent PLI Scheme. The latest push for creating a semiconductors ecosystem in India takes this further. Other developments like the incentives for clean energy, electrification of mobility and the massive infra push are major demand drivers, says Jyothi Joseph, Director, IED Communications, who has been aggressively promoting this show globally. By conservative estimates, we expect to see about 20,000 products and solutions on display at this edition, and a turnout of 50,000 unique visitors. The event offers unprecedented networking opportunities among vendors, system integrators and end-users, she adds.
Automation Expo is continuously mentored and guided by a Board of Governors comprising over 45 seasoned professionals from the automation industry, all of whom are present during the show. Their collective expertise guides the organizers in keeping the event in tune with the latest trends of the industry, as well as meeting the requirements of the current needs of the industry.
