33.BI-MU showcased the best international products; the next edition of the biennial will be from 9 to 12 October 2024.

November 2022 – Fieramilano Rho hosted 33.BI-MU, the most important Italian exhibition dedicated to the manufacturing industry of machine tools, robots, automation systems, digital and additive manufacturing and subcontracting in early October 2022. Organised by EFIM-ENTE FIERE ITALIANE MACCHINE and promoted by UCIMU-SISTEMI PER PRODURRE, the Italian machine tools, robots and automation systems manufacturers' association, 33.BI-MU shows the best international products of the sector, expression of almost 700 exhibiting companies, of which 37% from abroad, occupying a total surface area of 65,000 square metres within the four halls set up for the event (9- 11/13-15).
33.BI-MU opened with the inaugural ceremony, organised together with Xylexpo, the international trade show of woodworking technologies and components for the furniture industry, promoted by ACIMALL (Italian Woodworking Technology Association) and held in the neighbouring halls (22-24) and exactly on the same days as Bi-MU. The speakers of the meeting hosted at the BI-MUpiù Arena were Enrico Pazzali, president of Fiera Milano Foundation; Raffaele Cattaneo, head of Environment and Climate Dept., Lombardy Region; Barbara Colombo, president of UCIMU-SISTEMI PER PRODURRE; Luigi De Vito, president of ACIMALL; Antonio Bicchi, president of I-RIM; Carlo Ferro, president of ICE-Italian Trade Agency, and Alfredo Mariotti, General Manager of UCIMUSISTEMI PER PRODURRE.
Barbara Colombo, president of UCIMU-SISTEMI PER PRODURRE, pointed out: Although this slowdown certainly has a physiological component and although the level of orders is still high, however the fall is to be considered also in light of the major factors of destabilisation regarding the context where Italian manufacturers are operating. One only needs to think of the price rise of raw materials, hard-to-source electrical and electronic components and the huge problem of energy costs

Promoted by UCIMU-SISTEMI PER PRODURRE, the Italian machine tools, robots and automation systems manufacturers' association, and organised by EFIM-ENTE FIERE ITALIANE MACCHINE, 33.BI-MU reported large numbers of visitors and achieved the full satisfaction of exhibitors.
33.BI-MU showcased the best international products of the sector, representing almost 700 exhibiting companies, of which 37% from abroad, occupying a total surface area of 65,000 square metres in the four halls set up for the event (9-11/13-15).
Among the foreign visitors, there were also 100 operators, mostly end users, in addition to several journalists, coming from 13 countries – Australia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Brazil, Canada, Croatia, India, Mexico, Poland, Romania, Slovenia, Turkey, USA, Uzbekistan, Vietnam – invited within the business mission organised by UCIMU-SISTEMI PER PRODURRE in cooperation with ICE-Italian Trade Agency and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and of International Cooperation.
Alfredo Mariotti, general manager of UCIMU-SISTEMI PER PRODURRE, stated: We haven't seen such crowded aisles and such full exhibition stands for many editions. It is a sign that the proposal of this BI-MU met the approval of the public, despite the uncertainty of the context affected by many problems, first of all by the energy crisis.
The first exhibitors opinions we collected are definitely positive, with regard to the number, as well as to the quality of contacts collected. Considering the number of present operators - continued Alfredo Mariotti – if compared with the 2018 edition, the last one before the pandemic, 33.BI-MU was more successful
The next edition of BI-MU will take place from 9 to 12 October 2024.
