India, August 21, 2022: Universal Robots (UR), the global leader in the rapidly growing market of collaborative robots (cobots), showcased a broad range of cobots at Asia's leading Automation and Instrumentation exhibition, Automation Expo 2022, that was held on 16-19 August 2022 at Bombay Exhibition Centre, Mumbai.
Automation Expo 2022 provides a platform where global automation leaders, key stakeholders and decision-makers in the field of factory automation, turnkey solutions, field instrumentation, robotics and more converge at the exhibition. The expo presents an opportunity for industry-leading companies to showcase the latest innovations and solutions. In an effort to continue building a strong presence in India and establishing a name for itself as a partner, UR will be offering Indian manufacturers flexible automation solutions to adapt to the fast-changing world.
Commenting on the participation, Mr Sougandh K M, Country Manager of India, Universal Robots said, "The rising robotics market calls for robots to be used in multiple applications including assembly, dispensing, soldering, welding, palletising and machine tending. It may not always be a realistic prospect for small and mid-sized manufacturers to automate due to space and financial constraints. Despite the many benefits that cobots bring to the factory floor, we have seen their hesitation to deploy collaborative robots. Hence, we are here at the Automation Expo to introduce cobots to manufacturers, assisting them to embrace the benefits of automation and remain competitive,"
This year, Automation Expo 2022 focuses on reinventing the manufacturing landscape in India to support the nation's journey to becoming self-reliant. While technology and automation have become more ubiquitous, the term "digital transformation" has become a strategic approach for manufacturers to survive in the current digital era. The emergence of human-robot collaboration has paved the way for many factories to be automated.
According to the International Federation of Robotics, India is one of the strongest growing economies among the emerging markets in Asia. This has prompted Indian manufacturers to explore new solutions to keep up with the technological advancements that are catapulting other economies to the top.
At Automation Expo 2022, UR showcased pick and place, welding palletising, dispensing and polishing application demonstrations.
The UR cobots including UR3, UR3e, UR5, UR5e, UR10e and UR16e were displayed at UR partners' booths, Alstrut and Precimac. Alstrut, the first Indian company to provide a complete range of modular machine building solutions, demonstrated a wide range of UR cobots at Booth W-4. Precimac, an India-based industrial automation company, also displayed turnkey solutions using UR cobots at Booth X-2.
"Together with Alstrut and Precimac, we are honoured to be part of the 15th India International Trade show. We will be getting visitors acquainted with our company's favourites. It is a great opportunity for us to feature our latest collaborative automation technologies on the most sought-after applications in the manufacturing industry,” Mr Sougandh further added.
