Schneider Electric brings Green Yodha Yatra to Bengaluru to build sustainable healthcare of the future

The company aims to drive sustainability in healthcare by incorporating digitization and energy efficiency in the healthcare industry.

Bangalore, July 8, 2022: Schneider Electric, the global leader in digital transformation of energy automation and management, recently organised the ‘Building Sustainable Healthcare, Together’ session in Bengaluru as part of its flagship Green Yodha sustainability initiative. This event was a call to action for healthcare leaders to join forces and collaborate to drive the Green Yodha movement and digitally transform the healthcare industry through energy efficiency and sustainability.
The healthcare industry is one of the fastest-growing industries in the country, witnessing accelerated growth with the onset of the pandemic. The Government of India is taking several initiatives to foster infrastructure and technology advancements to build healthcare system readiness that is more efficient and sustainable. The third edition of NITI Aayog's Sustainability Development Goals (SDG) India Index and Dashboard 2020–21 also reflects on the partnerships formed and strengthened during the SDG initiatives, with the goal of achieving the 2030 Agenda. For the healthcare sector, joint efforts by the government in collaboration with state departments can surely produce better results and have a greater impact on sustainable healthcare. Schneider Electric’s Green Yodha initiative is aligned with this vision. The initiative aims to unite conscious citizens, businesses, and institutions to take collective action to adopt energy efficiency, renewables and solar, automation, digitalization, and a new world of electricity to meet both individual and corporate sustainability goals.
Special guests from different spheres of expertise of management, design, operations, and consultancy experts, discussed the growing demand for sustainable healthcare and the challenges faced in ensuring efficiency and resiliency.
Highlighting the need for digital transformation of the healthcare industry during the event, Shri Srinivas N, Executive Director (Technical), Karnataka Urban Infrastructure Development and Finance Corporation (KUIDFC) said, “Infrastructure, ICT, Medical Equipment, Emergency Response System are the 4 pillars of Smart Healthcare approach under the smart cities mission. We are investing INR 294 crore for 43 healthcare projects in Karnataka.”
Deliberating upon the focus on sustainable healthcare infrastructure, Dr. K Madan Gopal, Sr. Consultant (Health) NITI Aayog, Government of India said, “Govt has given emphasis on building resilient and sustainable healthcare infrastructure with a special focus on digital interventions.”
Bhupesh Arora, Business Head, Digital Energy, Schneider Electric India, emphasised the significance of IoT enabled infrastructure and future-ready platforms in building highly intelligent and responsive healthcare systems. With this event, Schneider Electric envisaged the healthcare industry coming together to enable energy efficiency in end-to-end healthcare facilities, designed to deliver improved sustainability, resiliency, hyper-efficiency, and people centricity.
