Condition Monitoring System for rotating equipment, drive heads, conveyors, etc., to enable predictive maintenance of a Coal Handling Plant.

Hyderabad, February 2021: The Singareni Collieries Company Limited or SCCL has appointed CONSYST, a leading Industry 4.0 system integration company, to implement a Condition Monitoring System for rotating equipment, drive heads, conveyors, etc., to enable predictive maintenance of one of their CHPs. The scope comes as a part of the turnkey plant monitoring and control system project to automate the coal handling plant in Singareni Collieries.
Talking about the newly secured contract, Jasir Sabri, MD at CONSYST said, “As per statistics, more than 50% of power in India is still being produced from coal. As we transition towards renewables, it is equally important to upgrade and maintain our existing assets to ensure reliability. The CHP's have a complex arrangement of heavy equipment ranging from pulleys, huge motors, belt conveyors, stacker-reclaimers, etc., thus a breakdown in CHP mostly results in massive direct and indirect costs. Once implemented, the project will help increase the overall efficiency of the plant and enable early detection of faults which will result in reduction of unplanned downtime and thus increase in productivity.”

CONSYST Technologies based out of Kochi, Kerala has been a forerunner in the implementation of Industry 4.0 technologies in water and power utilities, renewable energy, process industries and food/beverage industries.
