DFIs comments on draft of the unmanned aircraft system rules, 2020 – Understanding the regulations.

New Delhi, India – July 03, 2020: The Drone Federation of India (DFI) has released comments on the draft of The Unmanned Aircraft Rules (UAS) Rules, 2020 on its public forums. The Ministry of Civil Aviation, Government of India published the draft of The Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) Rules, 2020 on June 02, 2020, and is inviting public comments for the same. The rule once passed will be published under the Aircraft Act. The draft rules define a new authorisation procedure for manufacturers, importers, traders, operators, and owners of UAS.
The DFI released these comments on its public forum for other members of the drone community and other industry associations to take inspiration from this and come forward and support the industry. Over the course of the last 30 days, DFI has received over 300 pages of comments from 100+ organisations and has worked to consolidate all the comments and bring about a consensus in the drone industry.
