CG has a long history of technology in India. How comprehensive is the Drives & Automation portfolio?

As rightly said CG has a long history of technology in India and that goes true with CG Drives & Automation. Emotron, which is a CG product, is a very well-known brand not only in India but also world-wide. We have more than 40 years of experience in not only offering the products but also the services to customers.

In India we have a vast range of products in our portfolio to serve the industry, which includes low voltage drives in 415 and 690 V ( from 0.37 kW to 3000 kW), soft starters, shaft power monitors, medium voltage drives, DC drives, application dedicated drives and solutions offering. Recently we also entered into another big market as far as Drives & Automation is concerned by launching the PLCs and HMIs, which gives advantage to customer by getting all the products in one brand.

What are your main markets for the Drives & Automation division?

With the fact that we are market leaders in low voltage machines and having product offering transformers, switchgears, railway products, our offerings in Drives & Automation are not limited to any particular market; rather we are present in almost all kinds of markets whether these are machinery manufacturers, small and big OEMs, users or EPCs.

Today we cater to the needs of even the most critical industries like oil & gas and power. We are a preferred name in NPCIL and BARC. As far as the geographies are concerned, world-wide we operate with 6 core markets and one of them is India which is being catered from the CG Drives & Automation division.

The segment has some strong global players, besides local companies. What differentiates CG offering from the competition?

As in mentioned we not only offer products but complete solutions, and hence the satisfaction to customer. Besides the advantages like reduced size, energy efficiency, control, safety, integrated drive, etc., we offer packages like drives with motors or even the transformer in case it’s required by the customer. To give an example, today from all the global players and local players CG Drives & Automation is the only company which can offer drives and motors together with combined testing facility.

What about energy efficient solutions? Is the market now more open to adopt these solutions?

Today’s customers are far advanced and educated. They understand the importance of the need of energy saving. Data shows that around 45% of the total worlds energy is consumed by electric motors, that means the first step in energy saving is to target the electric motors’ consumption and the best way to run the motors by variable frequency drives.

Do you offer installation and maintenance services? What advantage your customer could have?

CG Emotron believes in providing end-to-end solutions and also in providing the best services.

We do offer installation and maintenance services and also Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMCs).

In our after sales services the offerings include retrofit solutions, on time spares availability, buyback schemes and AMCs, which actually provides customers the flexibility of getting the best services and to have their operations up and running within no time.

What are the main applications you target? Do you have specific offers for that? (ATEX compliant to specific market needs such the food process, etc)

As the market is big and looking at our capacity, capability and solutions offering ability as such, we are present mostly in all the segments and applications; however there are a few industry segments, which are focus segments for us, like water & waste water, oil & gas, power and metal& mining.

In addition, we do have all the approvals and certifications required for these segments. Also as CG Emotron is present worldwide, we not only have approvals and certification specific to the Indian market, but also for most of the global markets too.

How does Industry 4.0/IIoT impact the Motors & Drives segment?

Industry 4.0/IIoT is not only going to impact the Motors & Drives segment, but also the overall industry and how it operates, and in a positive way. CG has always been at the forefront when it comes to technology advancement and offering the latest to the market. The few examples of moving towards technology enhancements are Smart Motors, Emo PPU (which offers the operations of VFDs through Blue Tooth, and soon to come with WiFi).
