You are a believer in the People First maxim. Sounds simple, but is it easy to practice this in business?
Yes, people and their safety ought to be the first for any business, and securing them becomes critical need of the hour, especially in the industrial automation domain. DeepSight takes this as the most critical market to address and ensure the safety of people in any segment of business. This is not easy to practice without the help of advanced technologies.
Video surveillance is very important indeed, but still not being used effectively in real- time due to various constraints. Can technology help?
Yes, video surveillance is becoming the default need of the hour. There will be more than 1 billion CCTV installations globally by 2021. But these CCTVs have limited features and will not fulfil all requirements for various industries. DeepSight has developed GoDeep – one of the first kinds of AI Computer Vision platform, where any CCTV can be made smart to effectively analyse the footage in real time and raise alerts in instances like detecting persons on the ground not wearing safety gear, indoor fire, and human intrusion in critical areas of industrial plants, etc. We send alerts in 1-4 seconds to the concerned team with the image and location of the event to take required action immediately. In some cases we can even automate the process to initiate action, e.g., sprinkling water on the fire, etc.
Criminals today are alert about surveillance. Are there not ways to blend these into the décor?
We have already deployed our solutions in numerous places to detect criminal activities through discreet CCTV cameras, which can detect things like weapons, suspicious behaviour, etc.
Is safety being compromised by ‘cost-effective’ technologies with no safeguards?
Technologies need to be cost effective for any business, but should not be a low quality solution. Businesses should not go into low quality AI solution or hardware. Businesses should never compromise on the quality of technology used to safeguard the employees.
How is ‘SuperSecure’ helping turn the plain vanilla CCTV surveillance into a smart solution?
This is achieved in a number of ways. The Smart Surveillance Retrofit Solution is based on advanced artificial intelligence and deep learning technologies. SuperSecure+ is a universally compatible retrofit solution, works with any camera, any make, any resolution, and converts any CCTV system into a Smart Surveillance System.
SuperSecure+ adds intelligence to existing or new CCTV cameras to detect objects/potential threats such as intrusion, people with helmets, masks, weapons, fire, etc. We can develop custom object detection to suit specific requirements.

SuperSecure+ computer vision platform features and benefits:
- Analyses multiple live stream video feeds from CCTV cameras
- Enhances the quality of the videos in real-time using advanced proprietary image processing technics and algorithms
- Detects potential threats/incidents as they occur and send instant ALERTS in 6 different ways – Video and Audio alerts on the computer monitor, SMS, Email with incident related image attached, and also triggers IVR calls to the registered users (security personal and also the business owners/others), so necessary measures can be taken to prevent incidents such as robberies, fire accidents and save lives and protect assets
- Moment it detects any incident specified to those CCTV, it will send an alert with an image, IVR call, SMS, email and location of the incident to concerned stake holders
- Number of people to receive alerts can be any number based on the rights provided to them. It can be 1 person or 50 person contacts, and
- SuperSecure will also have unified dashboard where all incidents are accounted in one single place.
What are the other solutions provided by DeepSight Labs?
We provide safety, security and business productivity solution like crowd counting, in-house theft, and behaviour analytics. We focus on BFSI, retail, smart city and manufacturing segments.
Technology is double edged and unfortunately crooks manage to stay a step ahead. Will there ever be a perfect thing?
Every technology has to be updated periodically and upgraded accordingly. There are always chances for criminals or people with bad intention to attack the system to harm businesses and put people & lives at risk. Hence, having upgradable technology becomes very critical for any company. Here, DeepSight saw this from Day 1 and have built a scalable and upgradable platform based on the needs.
Is the startup scenario in India now coming of age?
Startups in India, especially in the product space, are gaining recognition globally. We are now moving more into products, than service centric areas.
