The year 2018 marks a milestone for Phoenix Contact India as the company celebrates glorious 25 years of operation in the country.
The success and the challenges of past 25 years kick-started with celebrations and felicitation ceremony in the presence of Klaus Eisert, Shareholder; Frank Stueherenberg, Global CEO; Axel Wachholz, Global CFO, and Dinesh Parwanda, President, Phoenix Contact India.
Commenting on the landmark occasion, Dinesh Parwanda, said, “The journey of 25 years has been challenging. It all began with making a joint venture partnership in year 1993. Initially the team had put a lot of hard work to establish brand Phoenix Contact. After a slow beginning the turnover took off from the year 2006 and there was no looking back. We continuously invested in machinery, manpower and infrastructure. Today, approximately directly and indirectly 1,200 people work for Phoenix Contact. With expansion in factory at Prithla in Haryana, we plan to double our capacity. From the day one ‘Make in India’ was our strategic direction to ensure that high quality Phoenix Contact products are available to Indian customers.”
“Customer first is our philosophy,” continued Parwanda. “We continuously monitor our performance for quality and service level. A strong sales team and distribution network ensures that we are present in all nooks and corners of country and offer customers the pre-sales and post-sales service of highest level. We pay special attention to our employees and 20 per cent improvement in GPTW (Great Place To work) Survey is testament to our commitment,” he added.
One of the fastest growing markets
Speaking on the occasion, Frank Stuehrenberg, commented, “The year 2017 was a special year for Phoenix Contact as we achieved more than 2 billion Euro turnover for the first time. Even at this size Phoenix Contact still retains its status of family-owned and financially independent company. Today, Phoenix Contact is a truly global company, having subsidiaries in 55 countries. Our guiding principle is ‘Think Global, Act Local’.”
“We invested in India and China in year 1993, at that time these were not such lucrative destinations, but today these subsidiaries are among the fastest growing and the most important for the Phoenix Contact Group. By achieving continuous double-digit growth for five years starting from 2013, India has set a record within the Phoenix Contact World. We are committed to invest even more in the Indian company not only for the Indian market but also for our global requirements. The recent setting up of technology service tower and new factory is a proof of our commitment to Indian market,” Stuehrenberg added.
The celebration also included the felicitation of customers, clients and channel partners, without whom the vision would have been incomplete – the success and the revenue targets could not have reached the desired mark.
“In order to serve the Indian customers better, we are constantly trying for reaching at customers’ doorsteps through a dedicated team of Engineers and Channel Partners, with the right products at the right place and in the right time. The company has recently added up in its existing capacity – a state-of-the-art manufacturing plant in the outskirts of the National Capital Region of Delhi, which will enhance the service level to serve its customers much better,” read a company statement.
“We thank the people who are involved in the success and celebrate this milestone. The growth of the company speaks of its satisfied customers who have been constantly serviced by Phoenix Contact in their demand for higher quality products with reliable technology,” said Parwanda in conclusion.
