Calibration Facility at Testo
Published on : Monday 21-08-2023
Testo uses comparison methods for calibration with highly accurate instruments that provide precise measurement of parameters.

Testo has an established state-of-the-art NABL accredited Service and Calibration Lab in accordance with the standard ISO/IEC 17025 : 2017, that takes care of the after sales support locally from Pune. Many times, when customers must get service and calibration for their instruments, either they have to wait for a very long time or invest highly for the service. Sometimes even the service facilities are not very premium to cater to the requirements. Testo service and calibration facility is highly cost effective as it delivers international standards very conveniently within a week’s time. Instruments of any brand/make can be calibrated and serviced locally maintaining necessary standards.
Frequency of calibration
Ideally, as a service provider, the frequency that we suggest to our customers for calibration is 1 year, i.e., the calibration should be done annually to avoid any kind of deviations. But then frequency is to be ultimately decided by the owner or the user as per their measurement frequency and time duration of tests.

Parameters under calibration
The accredited parameters include Temperature (contact and non-contact type), Humidity, Pressure, Differential Pressure, Air Velocity, RPM, Sound, Lux and Dew Point. In fact, ours is the first and only lab in India to get NABL accreditation for Dew Point Temperature.
For the process of calibration, we have one Generator and one Master Instrument. Generator generates the controlled environment where the calibration has to be conducted and the master instrument measures and provides the readings. One more thing that must be taken care of is that the master component must be kept in the desired controlled environment only. Considering the parameters for calibration, Testo provides a range of calibrators to quickly and easily calibrate the instruments, such as Huminator – humidity calibrators, Thermator – temperature calibrator, Pneumator – pressure calibrator and Mini Wind Tunnel – air velocity calibrator.
Various calibration techniques and equipment

With time technology keeps changing. Features and applications evolve and so do the devices. From the conventional type of calibrators, we now have huminators (humidity generators) with touch screens, data storage facility, USB connections, etc. Initially the calibrators had smaller chamber space, but the latest ones have sophisticated humidity chambers with compact design and extra space to calibrate more number of instruments at the same time. Testo compact chilled mirror for dew point calibration is the latest and highly precise device that stands out in terms of performance and accuracy.
Apart from the calibrations that are done in labs, there are situations where onsite calibrations are required. Testo Pneumator (pressure calibrator) fulfils both requirements: it can be used not only for stationary applications (in a laboratory), but also as a mobile calibrator. In addition to this, it also serves as a precision measuring instrument on site, combining highest accuracy with reliable battery operation. Regarding the actual process, there are standards available for humidity and temperature. We use comparison methods for calibration since our instruments are highly accurate and provide precise measurement of parameters.
