Push-X: neXT Level Connection Technology

With Push-X, Phoenix Contact is pushing Connection Technology to the neXT level.
Push-X once again offers significant technological advantages over the existing push-in connection technology. While Push-in allows tool-free wiring of rigid conductors or conductors pre-assembled with ferrules, Push-X serves all CU conductor types without exception in direct wiring and without force or tools.
The heart of this new technology is a pre-tensioned contact spring. No counterforce (of a contact spring) needs to be overcome during conductor insertion. The connection chamber, which is open when delivered, has a latching element at its rear/bottom end, which triggers the pretensioned contact spring by tapping with the inserted conductor, thus automatically establishing contact (mousetrap operating principle).
As with push-in, a conductor is released by actuating the orange actuating pusher. This opens the connection chamber and simultaneously tensions the contact spring. The Push-X connection is then ready for rewiring. The XT and XTV terminal blocks have a distinctive X on the pushers. The 'X' clearly identifies the new technology. This was not possible with the XPC PCB connectors due to their compactness.
The design of the connection chamber ensures a perfect conductor always fit (insertion depth). Automatic contacting is visible and audible. The position of the actuation pusher clearly signals the status of the terminal chamber to the user.
