PPPA-2022 New Trends in Process Automation
Published on : Thursday 12-05-2022
A 2-day Conference & Exhibition on New Trends in Process Automation on 3-4 June 2022 at Hotel Four Points by Sheraton, Vashi, Navi Mumbai.
After successful organisation of PPPA-2020 (at Taj, Santacruz) and PPPA-2021 (Virtual Event), ISA Maharashtra Section is pleased to announce PPPA-2022, a two-day conference that will focus on the new trends in Process Automation in the light of growing demand for Digital Transformation in the Process Industries. It will be a two-day event with conference and exhibition including an evening party with Awards Ceremony, cultural programme and gala dinner. Besides the technical content, it will provide a unique networking opportunity for automation professionals from end users, consultants, system integrators, turnkey contractors, automation systems and instrumentation manufacturers and service providers, after a long gap due to Covid restrictions.
Industrial growth is picking up after three successive waves of Covid. During the pandemic there has been a flood of webinars on advanced automation topics such as Digital Transformation, IIoT, IT-OT Convergence, ERP Integration, MES, Industry 4.0, Artificial Intelligence, Predictive maintenance, Cloud Based Computing, Cybersecurity, Data Analysis and so on. However, when a new process plant is being set up, we seldom use any of these topics in the Automation System specifications. This is perhaps because of lack of awareness, standardisation and readiness of the available automation systems to adapt to the new requirements.

Another transformation that has occurred in last two decades is that the process industries such Specialty Chemicals, Pharma, CPG, Food & Beverages, Paints, among others, have grown from single manually operated plants to world scale plants at multiple locations with nationwide supply chains. Their investments in automation have been multi-fold. It is these industries that are driving the digital transformation, despite their late adoption of automation. New projects are also seen in Water & Wastewater under the Smart Cities, Solar Power, Cement, Steel, etc. The evolution taking place in the automation systems also covers digital transformation in these industries.
We are aware of the evolution of the DCS from the 1970s to present day systems. In last 10-15 years, the evolution has centred on making these systems suitable for digital transformation and adapting to the requirements of new age process industries. It would be interesting to see how much they have evolved to meet these requirements.
The seminar will be divided into four technical sessions:

1. DCS/ Automation Systems
2. Batch/MES
3. Digital Transformation/IIoT, and
4. Field Instrumentation.
Eminent speakers from reputed Automation companies will be presenting papers on new trends in the respective areas. There will be an exclusive exhibition of the products and services by the sponsors and a few other exhibitors. The event has been sponsored by leading automation companies that include Schneider Electric, Siemens, Phoenix Contact, Vega, Adage Automation, Ronak Switchgear & Automation, Artee Flow, Forbes Marshall, Vega, Meggit, Sapcon, Galler, Delval Aira, etc.
The delegate registration will open soon. You can find the details about the event on http://www.isamaharashtrasection.org/
