The digital Transformation that began with the onset of Industry 4.0 ten years ago has gradually gathered pace. While the large corporates and global MNCs had an early start, many other mid-sized companies and MSMEs have also embarked on this journey. The Covid-19 pandemic that hit the world a year ago is widely believed to have accelerated the process. It is against this backdrop that Industrial Automation – India’s premier monthly trade publication – has embarked on this survey to track the progress of milestones reached in this journey.

Industrial Internet of things, big data analytics, artificial intelligence, edge and cloud computing and such other industrial internet technologies are transforming every step of the manufacturing process. Manufacturing companies are intent on leveraging the power of these technologies to become more efficient and productive in all their operations associated with supplier and customer relationship, shop floor management, plant equipment, management of product lifecycle, financial & human relationship, and such others. This process of emerging as a technology-enabled or information-driven enterprise is gaining traction in the Indian manufacturing sector. This journey is often described as digital transformation or Industry 4.0 initiative. While few of the manufacturing companies have covered some distance of the digital transformation journey, others are grappling either with the travails of undertaking the journey or planning for it.
We are reaching out to you to understand the current status with regard to your digital transformation initiative.
A copy of the Readiness of the Indian Industry to Digital Transformation Report will be made available to those who participate in the survey. Others can buy the report.
