It is open to students from all engineering disciplines who are in their final and pre-final years of UG and PG programs. Students can participate either as an individual (1 member) or as a team (maximum team size: 3 members).

Key Highlights of the India Automation Challenge 2024:

Diverse Participation: Engineering students from across the world with various disciplines can enthusiastically participate and showcase the interdisciplinary nature of automation technologies.

Networking Opportunities: The competition will provide a platform for students to build networks with professionals, gain insights into the industry, and explore potential career opportunities in the field of automation.

Expert Judging Panel: A distinguished panel of judges, who are industry experts, will evaluate the projects based on innovation, efficiency, and overall impact.

Cash Prizes and Recognition: Outstanding performances will be rewarded with attractive prizes, encouraging healthy competition and fostering students to strive for excellence.

The concept or idea submitted by the participants will be judged on the following criteria:

  • Innovation/novel ideas
  • Social Impact
  • Technical Knowledge
  • Completeness of prototype/POC

Students can submit their ideas/concepts during registration. At this stage of the competition, they are not required to build a prototype/POC (proof of concept). Once the ideas/concepts are submitted, the organiser will send an e-mail to the participants’ registered email ID with their ideas/concepts selected for the next stage/rounds.

Stage 2 - Technical Paper Presentation - will be held online through Microsoft Teams/Zoom, where shortlisted individuals and teams will be asked to present their ideas/concepts in detail to the panel of judges. After being shortlisted for the next round (Stage 3), participants need to prepare a prototype/POC to demonstrate how their ideas/concepts could be implemented in reality and submit a short description and demo video (~ 3 minutes) to show the working of their prototype.

The prototype/POC (Proof of Concept) is a sample required for examining the functionality and importance of the idea/concept. It should be a working model to exhibit the innovation a participant is claiming.

After completing all the rounds, shortlisted participants will be invited for the finale presentation. They will be intimated via email sent by the organiser.

Important Points To Remember:

  • The Idea/Concept cannot exceed 300 words
  • Attach images in jpeg and png format up to 1MB (if required)
  • Do not indiscriminately copy material from the web/internet or any other source
  • Refer to some prior published content with its source (if required). Do not copy more than 10% of the published work
  • In case of finding plagiarism, the concept/idea/abstract would be disqualified
  • Faculty are allowed only for mentoring the participants of the India Automation Challenge event; Not allowed to be a part during the presentation rounds
  • A person who is not part of the institution cannot act as a faculty. However, students can get offline support from the faculties of other institutes

The registration fee for the India Automation Challenge 2024 is Rs. 1000/- per group. The last Date of Registration is 31st January 2024.
